Volvo wagon appeals to drivers of all types

Sometimes, you just have to go for it. That’s what Volvo did with its 2019 V60 wagon model, currently available at Holmes Volvo Cars.

The automaker calls the V60 “a versatile vehicle that helps you make the most of every moment.” It features an advanced chassis, powerful engines and different drive modes that accelerate the driving experience — as well as the experience for passengers.

The inside is composed of carefully-crafted Scandinavian craftsmanship, which combined with smart technology creates a unique space for drivers and passengers to enjoy their commutes in a relaxing manner. Newer-generation models even upped the ante on the interior visuals and comfort levels.

This vehicle is just one example of more than 90 years of car creation, reaching a culmination where the V60 was made possible.

Volvo V60 possesses features galore, for any driver

Some of the newer features that are part of the V60 model affect mileage, pollution, space and storage.

Volvo’s new Drive-E powertrain delivers “smooth and abundant power” that results in both less carbon emissions and less fuel consumption, making that gas tank last longer. Five supportive seats provide comfort for all, and seats can be manipulated at the touch of a button for more space. Speaking of space, the V60 model features one of the brand’s largest load compartments, allowing you to fit all your groceries, kids’ sporting gear and whatever else you desire.

With the new all-wheel drive T6 all-wheel drive model, drivers get a supercharged and turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 316 horsepower and 295 pounds per foot of torque. That equates to about 31 miles per gallon on the highway.

Car experts from Ward’s Auto praised the model’s color scheme and carefully-crafted upholstery, saying it combines its unique Scandinavian heritage with a new-century look that just seems to work perfectly. The newer plaid-style offering is referred to as Blonde City Weave Textile Upholstery.

“Love the plaid,” saysWard’s AutoEditor David E. Zoia. “A daring touch that gives the car its brand character.” Editor Tom Murphy added, “Plaid is the new black.”

Editor and judge Drew Winter said Volvo deserves credit for changing it up and offering new material and color patterns that stray from the norm. His colleague, Bob Gritzinge, added, “The plaid is a winner for providing an immediate connection with Volvo’s Scandinavian heritage and making a unique statement.”

It’s not just looks, though, as Ward Auto’s James Amend wrote. It’s also about space, versatility and proving that a true yet unique wagon feel is still possible in 2019.

“The V60 is comfy from stem to stern,” James Amend wrote in Ward’s Auto. “It is devoid of hard surfaces and despite its sloping roof line, there is enough second-row headroom for the average adult and lots of wiggle room with its expanded dimensions.”
